And so I am back... Whether it's good or bad, whether I should have something better to do at this time of the evening - all of that is a rather moot point right now as I am back indeed. There were quite a bit of changes in my life since I wrote last. First - I have signed the dotted line... No, I did not accept an investment banking internship. I got married, thereby becoming a part of a large and very powerful (though occasionally whine) group of consenting adults that rules the world. I am happy to report that at this juncture, I love being married. Call me mushy and sentimental, perhaps even old fashioned - but you need to try it for yourself. C'mon now, don't put it off, claiming career issues, "I am not emotionally ready" or any other lame excuse. Just do it. You will thank me later.
Living in Philly is also great. Actually, it has surpassed all of my (admittedly low) expectations. It is a city, with a sizable downtown, bars, clubs and clusters of real estate (shout-outs to 1500 Locust) populated exclusively by Homo Whartonus, a rare breed of humans noted for their steady gaze, dry, firm handshake and uncommon intelligence, all far superior to their distant cousins found a few hundred miles up I-95.
Having lived through the pre-term, an intense experience that once again confounded all of my expectations, I am now a week into the real first MBA term. Classes range from technical yet anthropologically fascinating (you'll know what I mean if you hear "what a good guy" thrown out with no apparent context to support it - is he really a good guy, for instance; or is he a really a guy? All of these crucial points are left unexplored) to extremely intellectually stimulating and engaging. The books and bulkpacks have cost me a small fortune but alas, one has to learn to sacrifice disposable income on the altar of knowledge.
My learning team has been formed and it is great - they (the inscrutable men in to Tower) have done a great job in social engineering. All of us have different backgrounds which is great. And so far, we're all nice and civil, kinda like the first day on Real World Philadelphia, just without the hot tub. So far so good.
Please remain tuned to this page (in fact, I suggest making it your homepage) as I make my way through Wharton - it promises to be a fun journey.

Comments:
I'm glad you've decided to continue. I'm an applicant for the class of '07 and I'm learning a ton about Wharton from all of the Wharton blogs.
Question: is there a Wharton student newspaper (a la the Harbus or the Bottom Line)?
Thank you!
